The thing that makes a fantasy great is the possibility that it might come true.

Hello,
So after getting my first and only assignment and finishing it soon after the fact, I am rather bored already. Though I have enjoyed what I have learnt and it makes making webbies easier (when I can be bothered I'm going to change the workings of this one so it is more effecent), plus I have my first ever XHTML 1.0 Strict website. Which is nice.
I also ventured into Manchester during the day for the first time ever on Saturday, Friday night before Hannah, James and I were sat around the table and decied that we should go gym it up, when I remembered I had no gym shorts, so I had to get me some of them, the plan for the day was layed out, go into town, grab some shorts, do some food shopping, go gym it up, shower, then meet in the dinning room for food and to hang out.
How the day went was very different, Hannah and I went into town and got me some gym shorts, we then spent a long time in town walking around and grabbed a bite to eat (Zinger Burgers are amazing), did a little food shopping came back, changed into gym gear and went to the gym. But we kinda left it too late and found out when we got there that it closed 15 minutes later, so we cancelled the gyming it up for another day, yet to gym it up. But at least I have the shorts now. I might even make use of them before the end of the year.
It also turns out I am now being too social, and I need to cut back on it and change back to my hermit ways. Which in a way I guess is true, as I haven't spent much time chatting to some of my old friends. I think I'll have to take a day off from being a socialite and spend it being a hermit locked in my room chatting away to people on MSN and what have you, as I'm really starting to fall behind on my intarweb socializations. Which is sort of silly when you think about it, but meh.
Take care, ~Jordan |

Now what makes you think you belong here?

Hello,
University is still amazing dull, but what do you know, at least I've just found that I only need pay £400 for this year, which is nice. Though apparently you only get funding for 3 years, which means I'll have to pay a heap more for the last few. Which will suck.
I've also found a new love for kebabs, the place on the corner makes a huge kebab, and with the reduction of the aftersmell, damn is it nice, and at £3 (three pounds for anyone who doesn't have an English keyset), a lot cheaper and more filling then anything else around here, and I've started to grow of pasta, or at least, when I have it every night.
I also find humor in how easy it is to beat someone at a game without trying. Hannah wanted to have a little spin on my geeky toy (the steering wheel), and me being the nice fellow I am (hoho) agreed and set it up for her and let her go for a spin, Paul joined the party and me and James went to the store, came back and saw how bad someone who rides a motorbike is at driving a car, even if it is virtual.
Between them they set a respectable 1.26.x (I forget the lower values), which for someone who's never played Live For Speed before, more so as LFS still needs some tyre physics work, so it is rather slippy. So it was suggested I do a lap or two. So I ran one in my boots (which means I find it somewhat harder to do fast pedal control as I tend to get my boots stuck or hit the wrong one), span out on one corner (The S turn on BL1 for those who play) and still managed to set a 1.23.x, which in the car in question (FXR) is rather slow though that said I never was very fast on the corners, even in the game world, unlike many, I fear the crash as at times my brain forgets it is but a game.
All good fun though, I'm toying with the idea of finishing my other PC in time form coming back next term so we can have us a little bit of a race, as from what I've seen, no one else here seems to have a system up to the task. Though knowing me, I probably wont as I have so much junk to lug around as it is. That said, I still want to finish that box, just so it is a useful waste of space and not just a pile of parts that do nothing more than collect dust, and like my Mac be a costly paper weight.
Take care, ~Jordan |

They all want ... they all want you, and I can't be you.

Hello,
Todays news is slightly late, but you'll live.
Not much has changed since last week really, still bored stupid from the lack there of work, you'd think when you're paying £1200 to study you'd get more in the substance of work then just sit in a lecture hall for hours on end listening to some hippy tell you something anyone who isn't stupid should already know.
Last week I also got myself a nice little wireless pinhole camera which I was to mount on my R/C, but so far it is showing a lot of interferance from the car it's self, so range is somewhat more limited then I first expected. When the signal is good, it is very good, but when it's bad you can't see anything. But when you pay £18 inc shipping all the way from Hong Kong, you get what you pay for.
I am also becoming more of a socialite, with a lot of my time being spent talking to real people, it's somewhat strange, there is no delete key when I make a typo. Though being I'm a socialite I spend a lot of time in the dinning room where everyone goes to hangout and I've started to notice that Sian (the lass who dragged me out all those weeks ago) spends a lot of time cleaning up everyone elses mess, I don't feel super guitly because I know none of it is mine, but it still doesn't seem right that a house full of 11 (well it's closer to 14 if you count the couples who have bunked up) it all comes down to 1 person.
I also decided to rearrange my room, it now looks slightly smaller, but to me it looks better and I'm a lot more comfortable in it now, so that's all that matters, but I've been told it looks like an office, so I need to get a second chair just to finish off the look. Maybe when I'm not lazy I'll take a photo of it.
Take care, ~Jordan |

They still think I work in the lab.

Hello,
So I took my R/C out for a blast on the mini-car park near my house, and damn did it fly, was great fun throwing it into corners and powering out of them kicking out gravel as it went. After my fun I bring it inside and start cleaning. 4 days later and I'm still picking gravel out of the parts, I've had it in bits and each time I open something more gravel pours out. Who knew it'd take this long to clean.
It would also appear my left wrist is back to it's old tricks, with it hurting so bad recently I couldn't move my arm as just the weight from my hand hanging from it made it feel like it was made from burning glass of fire. Not fun, one hopes it'll stop hurting again soon, and there is no point in seeing a doctor about it, as they only treat the symptoms, and not the cause. Point being when your wrist feels like burning glass of fire it means you have some sort of damage to it, just giving me painkillers to hide the pain and leaving it at that isn't going to help anyone.
Also, forgetting the pin to chip'n'pin is a pain in the ass when you have to then run to a cash machine as you remembered the pin just as it said "CHIP LOCKED, LAWL!" take out cash then run back. I really need to walk to the LloydsTSB hole in the wall and unlock the chip again, but damn is it far away.
Take care, ~Jordan
[edit: I thought I'd share the spoils from all my labour link. Now I'm not sure if it is setup to allow external users to see it as of yet, but I'm sure if it isn't someone will tell me.] |

Isn't that kind of the same thing?

Hello,
So my R/C finally turned up after a visit from my parents (and my little sister came along, which was weird), It took me a while to build the car, and when I finished I wish I built it with the upgrades straight off the bat because I used up all the grease that comes with it, so until I order some more I could only install the oil filled shocks.
Today I got round to spraying the body, and one can of Tamiya Colo(u)r is just enough for 2 full coats. Now all I need to do is get round to masking off the body parts I don't want red and giving it a blast with the red paint.
However, the decal creation kit isn't as good as I was expecting. The software that comes with it is pretty much useless, and the decal paper isn't brilliant, and the first run will have to be scrapped and done again, which sucks. I'm yet to run the car full bore, or even in an open enough place to see how it handles (on the basis that I want to finish the paintjob before I take it anywhere public), but it has a tad too much power for indoor use, though it's a good thing it has brakes, because that saved it redecorating the walls with shards of plastic a few times.
It would also appear that university have got my real timetable sorted out, and as it turns out, I have a class I didn't know I did, however the class it's self is rather simple and the assignment for it is the same as last year, so I'm just going to resubmit last years again. But lucky for me I don't need to do the maths side of this course.
When I get round to it, I'll take some photos of my 'lil car so you can all awe in it's smexyness.
Take care, ~Jordan |
